3D Mat

This is a great item to have if you are just starting out with 3D Pen crafting. My daughter and I are both just learning how to control a 3D Pen and this mat really helps because of the groves in to make perfect squares, circles, even triangles. Or if you just want to "free-hand" it, you can flip the mat over and use the smooth backside (not sure if that is by design, lol). The finger guards are a nice touch too (no pun intended) for when you need to get that little bit of stubborn filament off the very hot tip of the pen. Overall extremely satisfied with this purchase.

My granddaughter had told me her step sister got one of these on her birthday, so I took the hint and got her one for her birthday. She was thrilled and since she already knew, from watching her sister I'm sure, how it worked, she probably had no problem with it. She does not live in our city, so I wasn't there to see her use it, but her Dad did tell me she was using it the minute she got it! So I would say it was a hit.

This is a very nice design mat, however, it is somewhat small. It was my fault for not reading the product details better, but I was anticipating a standard 8 1/2" x 11" size mat, but it is actually about 6" x 6". It works great though. My son accidentally placed the tip of the 3D pen on top of the mat while he was working with his design for about 2 minutes, and it didn't melt or deform at all. Very nice quality, and the templates are great for making basic shapes that can then be joined together to make objects.

I like everything about this mat, except that the filament doesnt stick well to the silicone. I know its suppose to be like this, but sometimes it gets frustrating considering you have to almost multitask with the pen movement and making sure your creation stays put. Other than that, I would recommend to anyone who is purchasing or has recently got a 3D Pen. You wont have to worry about the silicone mat moving on you or worry about prying your art off the mat. Definitely a must have for new pen users, like myself.

This was a gift for my 14-year-old granddaughter and she loves it! Her older sister got a 3-D printer for her birthday, so I thought this would be a comparable gift for the younger sister. I haven't seen it, but I am visiting them in a couple of weeks and am anxious for her to show me and let me play with it.
